American Foxhound
The American Foxhound bears a striking resemblance to the body build of a Beagle. An American Foxhound’s height is between 21 and 25 inches and the weight ranges from 65 to 75 pounds. This breeds athletic sleek body is covered with a smooth coat of tan and white, red and white or black red and white combination. The admirable speed of this excellent hunter is attributed to the well boned strong legs.
The American Foxhound is a very old breed – older than America, the country it was named after. The breed originated from the English dogs that were brought to the New World in 1650 by Robert Brooke.

Burying bones, like barking and chewing is a common behavior of dogs. Dogs have always been depicted as bone burying animals in cartoons, in movies and in children’s books. Because of the dogs’ inclination to bury bones; it would be safe to say that all dog owners have seen the pet digging and burying bones.
With a sneaky look on its face, a dog that has a bone on its mouth will look for an ideal spot to hide the “treasure”. As soon as the ideal hiding place is found, the dog will dig madly and speedily bury the bone. Do dogs know why these animals are burying bones Does your pet know why it is hiding the bones? Does your puppy whine, whimper and cry whenever you do certain things? Maybe picking up your car keys or putting on your coat gets him very upset?
These are all signs of puppy separation anxiety, and it’s important to rid your puppy of this problem so it doesn’t follow him as he matures. If left unchecked, it will quickly turn into adult dog separation anxiety, and it will become very difficult to deal with at that point. It may even become disastrous!
I can identify with this problem. About six weeks ago, I got the second puppy I’ve ever had from the local animal shelter. I got very lucky because I found a collie/shepherd mix, and I absolutely LOVE collie dogs!
